A day without immigrants

It's all over the news, immigrants today want to show the country how they are part of the U.S.

I support them. I want to highlight the fact that even though I am a U.S. Citizen I am also an immigrant, our family came to this country looking for a better life, we came to this country because our Venezuela could not cut it. I love my birth country, as much as I love the United States. But not the same way, you see, the United States is my country now, I live here, this is where I learned to be the person that I am now, and this is the country that has given us many opportunities, yes, it is not perfect, and yes, it is hated by other countries for their world policies, but I still love it.

This is why, I have to point out that some of the protesters are going about it the wrong way. If you want to become part of this system, this American Nation, then why are you flying flags from other countries? Why do you have to be ignorant about it?

My dear friends. Please show the rest of the nation how much you are needed and how you are part of this country not the violent way, but the peaceful way, do not cause riots, and do not go out there with other flags. Remember that your message is saying that you want to be part of the U.S.

I have family that is still waiting to get their legal status resolved, but they work hard, they apreciate this country more than anyone I know, I know, I know, they were not smart enough to choose what country they were born, but they came here to build a better life. And I think that if you fall in that category, why not let them stay? Is that so hard to do?

Maybe this lame thing will let me post a comment today.

I had a great comment all typed out, but after 1/2 hour trying to post it I will just say, AMEN!

Your view on immigration is pretty darn close to mine. I am related to immigrates and am VERY VERY close to someone here illegaly so this is a confusing subject for me.

I do not envy the people trying to find a good "Solution". I envy the people who have to execute and enforce the solution even more. Headache.

P.S. Apple commercials funny.

lol

that's ok, I get your point.

And this immigration issue sucks because I can see both sides...

Since most Americans are decendants from immigrants anyway, why stop new immigration? That's like saying that the immigrants in the old days are better than the new ones, that's nonsense. They had the same problems, also, racism could be an explanation right? But no,even hispanics that have been here for a couple of generations discriminate against the "newer" immigrants, again, it doesn't make sense, but it's the truth.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the immigrant issue. If American's don't resolve this issue, it could get very ugly--like the riots in France last fall.
