Yes, I know, this betrays how sheltered I've been my whole life, I've never had to shop for my own food, and I admit it was daunting at first, and since it's not a sink or swim situation, I've been taking my time learning how to shop for myself, I love the freedom and the lack of pressure, I can make a mistake cooking and nobody is going to be mad or disappointed.
I was so happy to find a latin market store walking distance from my apartment, but now I found the harina pan in my local Fred Meyers, I officially do not have to go anywhere else for all my shopping needs. I made arepas the other day when my oldest daughter came to visit. She asked me to keep the Saturday arepa tradition alive.
I cannot explain why I get excited for cleaning products for the apartment, I bought a vacuum cleaner off of amazon and I was like Yess!! and today I got this fancy af mob bucket from amazon on THE SAME DAY!!
It may sound crazy of phony, but it's good to take pleasure and notice the little things that give joy, being able to go to a big market full of food and items and you can just pick whatever you want is a HUGE privilege not available to most people during most history. The internet can be used to learn new things every day (like cheap and
diabetes-friendly recipes)
Anyway, I still have a ton of things to take care of, but I thought I'd do an update for whoever is reading this and myself.
