So Effing depressed

I feel down, like never before, suddendly I woke today feeling lower than whale excrement, Can't seem to cheer up, maybe it is because:

My son was diagnosed with asthma yesterday, he has to use a nebulizer three times a day now. (seeing him like that really bothers me, I can't explain it)
My wife and I argue about stupid stuff.
My wife and my Mom will never get along.
Even though we make more money than ever before, we are more broke than ever before.
I have no idea how I am going to pay for college tuition now that the GI Bill and my scholarship ran out.
I suck at being a Computer Engineer working remotely, I used to be ten times more productive when I was at the office in Rochester instead of working from far away.
I guess I could keep going whining about every little thing that bothers me. But what's the point?

All those problems I mentioned have a solution, I am just reacting in a pathetic way. I need to pick myself up. I hate acting so lame.

Dude, 's ok...everyone has those days. I had one of 'em on monday. But you know what?

It gets better.

I'm sorry to hear about Anthony, I'm sure things'll get better for him too. Just keep plugging away.

You and the fam should come up and visit bemidji sometime. We're all pulling for you.

I know, I look forward to that.
My plan is to move there (Roch.) as soon as I graduate. But that is not happening until Dec.

Meanwhile I have to suck it up until then, is not easy dude. So many things at once can feel overwhelming.

Thanks a lot for the support.

I don't feel so bad anymore.

Where's Alex to tell me to Eff myself?

Wait, so you'll be in the Cities next year, too? Awesome! I feel like we're moving all of our friends with us (well, almost all). I can't wait to meet Martha and Anthony. Can I squeeze his cheeks and coo baby-talk-nonsense?

Understand the overwealmed feeling. I get that way sometimes. We all do. You did one of the first things I do too... write about it. Just venting and getting the list of everything out is usually helpful. Best of luck in finding solutions.

Natasjia

is that how you spell your name? or is it Natasha? Anyway,OF COURSE you can play with Anthony, and I can't wait to go up to MN. But Rochester is about an hour south of the cities...not that it matters that much.

Michael, you are right, stress is easier to deal when you sit down and write stuff down, I found out that really helps.

Heh on the Alex comment. Worked, though!

You are a tough, together individual. That doesn't mean you don't have crap.

YOU know I've been there (See Alex comment!).

Everyone said it much better than I could, but I will say something about the asthma.

My son has asthma (Diagnosed by landing in the hospital for two weeks at 7 years old).

The chances are very high he will outgrow it. My two siblings did, so did all of my neices.

I didn't but my asthma is now manageable. Even if he doesn't outgrow it, the often gets used less and less as they get older. It is just the easiest way to administer the meds to little ones who can't work an inhaler (So they can't take preventative meds like Advair).

Anyway, you really seem like a great guy and I know you'll make lists, look at everything and be ok. Sometimes you just have to barf the emotional crud out somewhere before you can do that.

:D

Sorry...above was supposed to clarify that they often use the NEBULIZER less and less...oops.

Loralee,

Thanks for the info, I was hoping to talk to someone who knew more about Asthma. The more information I have, the better, knowledge gives me the sensation of having power over the situation and I don't feel so helpless, also, I feel like is my fault he's sick, even though that's not the case.

But thanks a lot.

Anytime.

I forgot to add that you should really watch his allergies and weight growing up.

If you move back to MS be careful about him going from cold (outside) to inside. ESPECIALLY if he is running around playing.

These can all be really bad triggers for Asthma that I mainly had to learn about from icky experience.

P.S.
Parents usually feel responsibility even when there is NONE to be had. That usually just comes with the territory. :)

On Asthma: I was also an asthma child -- lots of hospital stays from the tropical climate in Hawaii (maybe Florida has something to do with Anthony's?). When we moved back to a milder climate it went away, then came back for a year or two in my teens, and now is still around but never to the point that I need an inhaler.

And, it is Natasha. I just use Natasjia on my blog. Longish story.

And an hour away from the Cities is nothing after living in Bemidji, where the only things an hour away are even smaller towns.

And . . . I can't wait to meet your family! :)
